What to expect in the
credit repair process
As a client, you will need to forward to our office
anything you receive in the mail from the credit reporting agencies and data furnishers. In some cases,
we may prepare correspondence on your behalf for you to mail out to these companies as well. Here's how
it works:
Step One
ONE TO SEVEN DAYS: We will set up your case and order your credit reports
for you.
Step Two
SEVEN TO FOURTEEN DAYS: You will receive your credit reports in the mail.
Make copies for your records and mail the originals to us. We will begin your case-work
and...
a) We will prepare documents on your behalf
requesting furnishers of credit information to validate claims within FDCPA and state law guidelines (we may send
some of these documents to you for you to mail out via certified mail), and
b) We will notify Experian, Equifax and TransUnion
credit bureaus to reinvestigate entries and to ensure FCRA/FACT Act compliance (we send these documents directly to
the credit reporting agencies ourselves).
Step Three
TWO MONTHS: The credit bureaus will mail you the results of the
reinvestigation. Generally, about 15% - 30% of the negative and invalid information is deleted at this time
(results vary case by case). Make copies for your records and mail the originals to our
office.
| 1st Results: Two (2) months |
Every time you receive results,
you can typically expect anywhere from 15% - 30% of
the negative and invalid items
to be deleted.
|
| 2nd Results: Five (5) months |
| 3rd Results: Eight (8) months |
4th Results: Eleven (11) months, etc.
|
Every time you receive your results (the updated credit reports), forward them to our office. On
average, most of our clients that remain in the credit repair program for a minimum of 11 months see roughly 70% of
the negative and invalid items deleted.
